Common Surgeries

What to Expect?

  • A doctor will perform a full pre-operative exam before any surgery.
  • Pre-anesthetic bloodwork & EKG may be required.
  • Some patients may require IV catheter placement and IV fluids during surgery.
  • Patients are monitored before, during, and after the procedure by a well-trained veterinary assistant.
  • Patients receive pain medicine during and after surgery when necessary.
  • Most patients are hospitalized and may spend at least one night in the clinic following surgery, at the doctor's discretion.

We have a class IV therapeutic laser that can be used post-op and on open wounds to promote healing and decrease pain.  It can also help alleviate pain in patients with arthritis.

We recommend regular teeth cleaning on dogs and cats to prevent illness and maintain healthy teeth. Patients are anesthetized for all dental procedures and pain medicine is administered when needed.

If your pet has bad breath, it may be time for a cleaning!
